Relay for Life at UNH!

Having fun with friends; eatting all night; drinking lots of caffiene; listen to some great bands; men dressing up as women and parading themselves around. Sounds like a typical crazy weekend here at UNH, right? Well, its that, but it is so much more. It is also a weekend filled with hope and support.

Noon on Saturday April 28 to noon on Sunday April 29th UNH will be holding the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This event helps raise money for the ACS for research. Relay for Life is a 24 hour walk where teams must have a member on the track walking at all times. My club, Circle K, has put a team together. I am trying to raise $200, and I am asking for everyone's help. If you click on the Relay for Life at UNH title above, it will bring you to my personal donation page.

This is just a reminder that I would really appreciate any support. Cancer has effected many of my close friends and family. It is a terrible disease and it means so much to be fighting for a cure. This will be my 4th Relay here at UNH. This event is very special to me and I plan on continuing my support to finding a cure for cancer. An advanced thank-you for any contribution you give.

My New Favorite Author

My mother has what you would call a library in our spare bedroom in our house. There is a bookcase in there filled with books of all kinds. I picked this book over spring break when I was home titled, "The Runaway Princess." I love historical novels, so I thought this one looked good. I starting reading it and I couldn't put it down. I was done with it in less than a week, a usually it takes forever for me to read an entire book. I loved it! It was unpredictable, it had romance and suspense. I found my new favorite author: Christine Dodd

If you love historical romances, this is your author. I was so excited to start a new book that I went to Amazon and ordered three of her other books, The Lost Princess Series. One of them has arrived, but it is the third in the series, so I need to wait until the first one comes to start reading again. I can't wait. I have been checking my mail religiously waiting for the package to come. I definetely recommend this author to anyone who is looking for a good book to read. She also has a website www.christinadodd.com.

American Idol Update

I'm very excited that my four favorites from the beginning are still in the running.

But I have two more favorites that has become everyones favorites.

Between these two girls, Melinda and Jordin, and the other two girls, Lakisha and Stephanie, one of them will be the next American Idol. No offense to the guys, but the girls are in a complete different league than the guys. Good luck girls!

Spring Break!

Hi everyone. This past week I have been home for spring break. I have been busy painting my brother's old bedroom, cleaning out my room, and homework as usual. But this weekend was a real treat for me. My nephew was here because my brother and sister in-law were at a wedding in New Jersey. Over the weekend, we saw the many faces of Brady

This is the "I'm being fresh" look!

This is the "I'm mad" look!

This is the "clueless" look!

Brady had many other looks, but he was too quick to get them on camera. Brady found a new toy to play with. He kept trying to grab our cell phones, so we gave him an old cell phone we still had the charger for and let him play with it. He loved it! He would open it up and say "hello?" It was so cute, i wish i had a video camera. We did lots of fun things this weekend.

We even took Brady outside

But that didn't last long

I had so much fun this weekend. Don't worry Mama and Dada, Brady had so much fun. He wants to know when he can sleep over again?

Kids and Break

Hey everyone. I haven't blogged in a couple of days, so here is an update. This morning I went with 2 other girls from my Circle K club to do a seatbelt safety program to 2 second grade classrooms at an elementary school in Dover. It was great! The kids were great and had such a great time. This program gives me such satisfaction. I did it last year in a couple of schools and it was fun then as well.

Break is next week and I am very excited. I will be home for a whole week without any schoolwork to worry about. I will just have to start applying for jobs next week. Wish me luck on that. I will be sending in applications and resumes to area hospitals. I am also excited because the weekend ending my break my nephew will be at my house because my brother and sister in-law will be at a wedding. I am so excited to have Brady for a weekend where I can play with him all day. Hopefully if the snow is still around I can take him sledding down the little hill on the side of our house. That will be so much fun. I can't wait.
