Dress Shopping!

My cousin is getting married next June (2008) and some of us bridesmaids went over to David's Bridal last night to check out some dresses. Wow, I thought I tried on a lot for my brother's wedding! Not even close to the amount we tried on last night. We spent 2 hours trying on dresses, probably around 15 different dresses, a couple more than once. But we narrowed it down to one dress my cousin likes. As you can see from the pic below, it is short and black. If this is the dress my cousin ends up picking, she wants to add a dark pink sash around the waist, a white sash for Jill (maid of honor), and a pin on the back of the sash where it ties. I really like the dress and it looks good in all of us (and me, which is good considering my boobs are huge).

They only had a couple of these dresses in black and the rest were in a light pink (which did not look good on most of us considered we were all very white and not tanned at all), but two of the girls tried on the black dresses with the sashes and they looked really good. My cousin isn't sure how it will go with her dress, so we might end up going back and some point with her dress to see how it looks with the black.

I felt so bad for the woman who worked with us last night. She was running around everywhere getting dresses and sizes for us. And another woman that worked there kept coming back to the dressing rooms to see what we were trying on becase she said all the dresses we had were so different from each other, she wanted to see what we were trying on next. Another group of women there were with a bride that was trying on wedding dresses. They also agreed that the black dress with the sashes was the best out of all of them. They were watching us try on what felt like every dress in the store. But I had fun doing it, I love trying on dresses!

The dress is an Oleg Cassini, which my mom tells me is a very famous and expensive designer, but the price isn't too bad ($180). The total would be around $200 with the sash and pin. So this is the finalist at David's Bridal, but we are going to look at some places in and around Boston (Yolandas in Waltham being one of them) on Saturday. I am so excited. I will keep you updated with pics of the finalists and eventually the winner! (I feel like I am talking about American Idol!) Stay tuned.
