"Goin' to the Chapel and their Gonna Get Married!"

My cousin Cassandra and her long-time boyfriend recently got engaged and have set a date of June 2008. Cassandra asked me to be a bridesmaid and I am so excited. I can't wait until the wedding. These two are so perfect for each other. My cousin is trying to decided everything now. She originally had all planned out black dresses with a pink sash to match the orange and pink flowers. Now she has changed her mind to a seafoam green, a darker green sash, chapmagne gold shoes and ivory accents for the flowers. I don't know where she will go next with the color selection, but we are going to look for dresses in April. She won't be able to change her mind after we order. But I am so excited. She asked my brother and sister in-law to have my little nephew Brady to be one of the Ring Bearers in the wedding. He is gonna look so cute in a tux! I will keep you posted on all the details!

American Idol Season is Here!

American Idol season is here once again. Yesterday and today we got our first glimpse at the competition. Here is what I thought of it.

Stefanie was unbelievable. What a way to start the show off. She really blew the guys out of the water. She kind of reminds me of Fantasia. Your gonna go far girl!

Lakisha was AMAZING. She has been my favorite since she audtitioned. She is by far the best out of the Top 24. She will go far if she keeps this up and I will be very surprised if she doesn't make it to the finale. And it is ironic that she sang that song because she kind of looks like Jennifer Hudson. You Go girl!

As far as the guys, they weren't as good as the girls, but there were a couple stars out of the group. I really liked Chris. He is a funny guy and knows how to give a show and be very entertaining. He might not have the greatest voice but knows how to put it all together. Great job Chris!

Phil was another star of the guys night. He started out a little shaky, but ended great and was definetly one of the only guys that pulled it together last night. Keep it up!

Overall, the girls were amazing, the guys were ok. The guys have their work cut out for themselves next week. I can't wait until the Top 12 are chosen. This will be a great season.

Get Well Card

I have this Nursing Day-to-Day calendar that has some pretty funny mini-stories for everyday. This was today's:

A motorcycle patrolman was rushed to the hospital with an inflamed appendix. The doctors operated and advised him that all was well. However, when he woke up in the recovery room, the patrolman kept feeling something pulling at the hairs of his chest.
Worried that it might be a second surgery the doctors hadn't told him about, he finally got enough courage to pull his hospital gown down enough so he could see what was making him so uncomfortable.
Taped firmly across his hairy chest were three wide strips of adhesive tape, the kind that doesn't come off easily. Written in large black letters was the sentence:
"Get Well Soon, from the nurse you gave a ticket to last week."

A word to wise: don't piss off a nurse. We can come up with some pretty creative ways of getting even.

Blizzard in New England!

Hey New Englanders. Well, I am pretty much snowed in up here at UNH. This is the view from my window. As you can see, it is beginning to look like winter around here. The whole region is under a blizzard warning until tomorrow morning. The winds are whirling up to 50mph. At least UNH had the sense to cancel classes. Usually in snow conditions, the name "The University of No Holidays" comes to mind. Well, I am off to trudge my way to the dining hall. I hope everyone stays safe today and tomorrow.

Relay for Life at UNH!

Having fun with friends; eatting all night; drinking lots of caffiene; listen to some great bands; men dressing up as women and parading themselves around. Sounds like a typical crazy weekend here at UNH, right? Well, its that, but it is so much more. It is also a weekend filled with hope and support.

Noon on Saturday April 28 to noon on Sunday April 29th UNH will be holding the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This event helps raise money for the ACS for research. Relay for Life is a 24 hour walk where teams must have a member on the track walking at all times. My club, Circle K, has put a team together. I am trying to raise $500, and I am asking for everyone's help. If you click on the Relay for Life at UNH title above, it will bring you to my personal donation page.

I would really appreciate any support. Cancer has effected many of my close friends and family. It is a terrible disease and it means so much to be fighting for a cure. This will be my 4th Relay here at UNH. This event is very special to me and I plan on continuing my support to finding a cure for cancer. An advanced thank-you for any contribution you give.

The Cutest Kid In The World!

Here is my cutie of a nephew! Isn't he so adorable? He is very excited about the upcoming arrival of his new brother or sister. But he hopes that he/she doesn't take all his toys!

An Intro to My Crazy Life

Hey everyone. I just decided to start this blog. I had an account just so I could post on other people's blogs, but I decided to start my own. As many of you know, right now I am currently in my last semester here at UNH. I am a nursing major, so things are very busy. I am doing my senior practicum at Portsmouth Hospital. I like it there, and it is nice and close to campus. I have had some pretty interesting experiences so far.

I just found out recently that my sister in-law Erica is pregnant, so I will soon be an aunt again. My brother and sister in-law have a son already: the cutest little boy in the world. My nephew, Brady, is the biggest Patriots fan. He even runs around saying "Touch Down" during football games. But I am so excited that she is pregnant. She is actually due about two weeks before Brady's 2nd birthday. I can't wait to see another little baby around in our family. My brother is the oldest on both sides of my family, so Brady and the soon to be little baby are the first babies in a while in my family. Congratulations Brian, Erica, and Brady! And an advanced welcome to Baby Stack!

Well, that is about it for now. I'll keep you posted on everything.
