Update on the graduate!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to update everyone on what has been happening these last couple of weeks. I did get offered the job at Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and I did accept it. I start on July 9th. Now all I have to worry about is taking my boards for my licence hopefully in the end of June (no worries.....only the most important test I will ever take!).

I had my nursing pinning this past Friday night. My parents, my brother Jay, and my grandmother went to watch me recieve my pin. This was the important ceremony of the two, the other being the university graduation.

The university graduation was on Saturday morning. We lucked out with the rain. It only sprinkled for a bit, then nothing. It was a bit cold, but a pretty good day compared to what my brother had when he graduated UNH, pouring rain.
We had the greatest commencement speakers: Bill Clinton and George Bush. With the two teaming up for the tsunami relief, the commencement committee thought it would be cool to ask them the speak, not thinking they would actually accpet. Well, they did, and it was great. Both talked of the importance of being a citizen and it doesn't take a powerful citizen to make a difference. Of course there were jokes here and there. And Bill couldn't resist putting in a subtle plug for his wife: "Madam President (addressing the president of UNH), that has a nice ring to it," and "This world should be ruled by women, that way George and I can go play golf." All in all, it was a great ceremony. I can't believe that I am graduated from college and ready to start work. I will keep you updated on the stressful month ahead full of studying and freaking out!

I AM SOOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!!!!!

Congrats on the job too!!!! I knew you would get a job - you are going to be a wonderful nurse!

I couldn't find anyone to work my shift at my second job so I couldn't attend the graduation. Please know that I was thinking of you and my other Class of 2003 babies! :-)

Study hard for your exam - you'll kick some serious butt!!!!!!

Hugs - Ms. M. :-)
